Sometimes it makes you feel good...

Okay, I'll admit it. Sometimes, a girl needs an ego boost. I find the wave of needing said boost comes from disappointments in the whole career advancement field. I was feeling crappy a few weeks ago, so I may or may not have coerced a super colleague to write me a "Top Ten List" of why I am awesome.

First of all, the fact that this super colleague actually made the list makes her leaps and bounds above me in the awesome scale. Secondly, I found the list while I was cleaning today and I have to share it. Partially because it reflects helping my self-esteem balloon get blown up. Partially because its hilarious.

Here it is. (My comments can be found in italics....)

Top Ten Reasons You are Awesome
~Brains behind Operation HoHoHo (this one time, we may have worn matching Christmas sweaters)

~Taught admin a thing or two about TFLN

~Introduced Las Mariposas to their name

~With JP, teaches students daily about race relations

~Gives Admin a piece of her mind so the new teacher doesn't have to.

~Power Trip says she's the best teacher in school. Super Colleague and fellow HoHoHo'er says she's the best teacher in school. Obviously she's the best teacher in school.

~Runs the district's math department (or at least is the only one who can write aligned questions) (I want to comment that I am not the ONLY person who can align questions. We just perhaps maybe stick the few that can in the same group so the others suffer...)

~Saves Mr. C from dying every day (not every day. Just most days. Rarely on the weekends. Unless he wants cable tv. Then the weekends too...)

~Yells every day and never loses her voice. (I do sometimes lose my voice. I drink a lot of tea. Mucho practice in voice saving techniques from the former singer)

~Is the entire reason why I get out of bed in the morning, have any idea what to teach or how to teach it, can (sort of) control 3/4 of my classes, know where anything at school is, show up at any professional development events, don't go home sobbing every day, and don't run away from school during lunch. (I'll just interject and say that she doesn't give herself enough credit.)

It is nice to have such good friends who keep you sane and make you laugh.
