Oh Pythagoreas

I spent a few days last week teaching the kiddos about the Pythagorean Theorem.

It was the first time all year that my algebra kids were at the same point as the geometry kids in the next room.

I was thinking about teaching the kiddos like this article shows...you know, with the proofs and the pictures.

But, I said to myself, I didn't understand that proof until I saw it when I was an adult. An adult obsessed with mathematics.

I feel like one day I will introduce these squares to my algebra kiddos. But not until they have to use the Pythagorean theorem for anything other than distance.
