Or pictures. Or graphs.
Whatever it is, this is SO true.

WTF?
I got bad news today and, compounded with the shitty things that are happening to my friends, it became too overwhelming.
I cried on the phone to my mother, heaving sobs, in which I contemplated becoming a barista or becoming a hermit in her basement.
God I feel like such a failure at life. SUCH. A. FAILURE.
When did I go from being the go-getter in college, getting EVERYTHING I wanted, to this absymal human who uses her prestigious degree to do a shitty job (which plenty of people tell me I don't know how to do) and have NO one want me to work for them?
When? When?

Bullies.
One of the most fabulous teachers on our campus - neigh, in the entire teaching profession - is being bullied. She is being bullied by our administration and it makes me want to vomit.
Let's discuss her brilliance on multiple levels: (Apparently i'm obsessed with bulleted lists today)
Let's discuss her brilliance on multiple levels: (Apparently i'm obsessed with bulleted lists today)
- Best. Reading. Teacher. I've. Encountered. I've learned so much from her this year that when I open my dream school in the future, I'm forcing her to be the reading coach. And teach reading. Joyfully. All day long.
- Best. Coworker. Ever. She is supportive of her colleagues every day. She gives suggestions. She listens when we have problems. She makes us laugh. She knows about our families and our lives. She cares.
- Most. Reflective. Teacher. Every day, she analyzes what she can do to help the kids learn. EVERY DAY. Sometimes multiple times a day. She honestly reflects and changes her instruction daily.
- Most. Inspiring. Teacher. Ever. She was given the hardest job on campus this year. And she refuses to give up. She works harder than any person I've ever met (and I went through TFA. With ridiculous overachievers.) She inspires me to work harder. She inspires some of the most negative kids on campus to grow, learn, and achieve. And she doesn't yell. And she doesn't get help.
Worst. Week. Ever.
This week blew. It sucked, sucked, sucked. Not just in a crappy, I'm tired sort of way, but in an exhausting, depressing, destructable way.
I'm bullet-pointing it right now because, well, most need no explanation:
I'm bullet-pointing it right now because, well, most need no explanation:
- Standardized testing brings out the worst in kids.
- Cried every day because of the demise of my kid's engagement (see previous bullet)
- Got "rigor" questioned in a gut-wrenching way (I take that shit to heart)
- Lost a student to Mexico. (She's stuck there indefinitely)
- Support was at an all time low (we all cried. mostly out of frustration)
- My car died. In the dark. In a bad part of town.
- An adult was abducted at my school. In the parking lot. While most of us were there.
- The abuduction was covered up in the worst way.
- Grades were due.
